Abstract

The present research aims to see the pollution reduction that can be generated by implementing the concept of Industry 4.0 for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) business incubation. In order to predict the pollution reduction, a business model based on the Industry 4.0 was generated. Specifically, the use of Internet of Things (IOT) in the business incubation process is selected. This study uses a business model canvas tool to generate the concept of Industry 4.0 business model. A qualitative with multiple case studies method is conducted for SMEs in food and beverages industry in Indonesia. The result shows how the effective concept of Industry 4.0 is able to reduce many pollution aspects. Several practical and managerial implications are discussed in the end of this paper. Ensuring the pollution reduction will help the sustainability of the environment.
