abstract = "Main purpose of this study is to design and experimenting about basic infrastructure of the communication system VLC especially on the physical components that consist of transmitter unit and receiver unit. The specific purpose is to evaluating the performance of LEDs as a component of the receiver in the communication system and its influence if arranged in parallel. In this study, Red LASER diode 650 nm is used as main component on transmitter unit and the LEDs are arranged in parallel used as main component on the receiver unit. Trial is done by sending an OOK signal at the transmitter (650 nm Laser Diode). Then do the observation and analysis on the receiver side (Red Diffuse LED). The maximum frequency that used is 10 KHz. Then do a comparison of performance between Single LED and Parallel LED as main component of receiver unit on communication system. The higher the frequency, the more difficult for the receiver unit to distinguish each symbol bits of information. At frequency of 10 KHz, on single LED the difference of voltage levels of each symbol bits of information reached to 2.7 Volt. Whereas if arranged in parallel, decrease until 1.1 Volt. The higher this value, the logic of 'High' and 'Low' of the signal information will be more easily recognizable and distinguishable by the receiver unit. Measurement results showed that a single LED shows better performance than a Parallel LED.",
