Abstract

Safety on marine transportation is influenced by maritime weather especially wave height. High waves can jeopardize voyages and can increase the level of accidents that occur in the sea. Fuzzy logic can be used to predict maritime weather on the Surabaya - Banjarmasin shipping lanes. Fuzzy can predict wave heights quite accurate because the algorithm can learn a nonlinear system and can study the inputoutput relationship of a system based on the rule that is designed. Wind velocity, current wave height and wave height in the previous clock serve as the input system, while the wave height in the next hour as the output system.
